IS caregivers across regions often help mark the holidays with Christmas charity, including “giving trees” and drives that help ensure families in their communities have gifts to make the holidays a little brighter.
Burbank IS caregivers have long taken part in the Providence St. Joseph Medical Center’s adopt-a-family program, which identifies families and caregivers in need of some assistance during the holidays. The IS Burbank team, under the coordination of QA/Testing Manager Marisa Reyes, sponsored one family, with members of Epic, cardiology apps, TEO, enterprise business apps, and QA & Automation teams all pitching in with gifts.
In Renton, our IS caregivers were able to serve 12 families through Providence Regina House, a neighborhood center in Seattle’s South Park area. The commitment of King County caregivers to our Regina House partners was particularly meaningful for King County Mission Director, Tracy Brown, who serves as director for the center, as well as Mission leader for IS/Shared Services in the area, Tracy passed on this note of appreciation from the manager of Regina House, Debbie Pola:
“The Adopt a Family campaign was a great success this year. Of the 84 families served, 40 were supported by PSJH teams, with 12 specifically served by the giving of IS specific teams. We are so thankful for the IS teams that gave their time and resources during such a busy time of year to create a special holiday for these families that are less fortunate. I was fortunate enough to witness the excitement and joy on the faces of the families coming to retrieve the gifts. Thank you for creating such a blessing in the Southpark neighborhood through Providence Regina House!”
Keme Green, IS PPMO Operations Assistant, was instrumental in coordinating gift donations across Renton-based IS teams, including the Epic team, Strategy and Program Office, Administrative Technologies, Healthcare Intelligence, B.J. Moore’s IS executive leadership team, and admins and leaders of Clinical Informatics. TEO and CTO Rick Stover, exec. assistant, Laura Smith, coordinated present wrapping on the second floor of Southgate II. Then, numerous team members were part of the logistical effort to load and deliver gifts to the families — an experience they found quite rewarding and heartwarming.
Great work leading in Mission service, supporting families in our communities over the holidays, IS!
