MDM and MaaS… WTH?! Learn the new ways we’re managing mobility!

The TEO Desktop and Mobile Engineering team of IS is hard at work on the next generation of mobile device management (MDM) that will allow our entire PSJH organization to more securely and compliantly utilize mobile devices, like iPhones and iPads. This involves a unified approach to endpoint management and new cloud-based tools that move management of our end points to a “mobility as a service” (MaaS) approach.

Currently, we use a number of patchwork of solutions, including MobileIron, XenMobile, IBM MaaS360, and JAMF, to manage these mobile endpoints. However, now, as we rationalize our solutions and better secure our environments, we will be migrating solely to IBM MaaS360, which will allow us to consolidate to one MDM to provide management through a “single pane of glass” for all of PSJH.

The project team is expected to deliver this by the end of 2019. With the involvement of caregivers from the Service Desk, Field Services, the IS PPMO, Architecture, Operations and Engineering, we will deliver this tool impacting every stakeholder in our organization, but noticeable to very few.
