Checking in on our WAN Transformation Progress

Did you know our WAN transformation initiative has converted 392 sites and counting?

Senior project manager, Jenny Cheng shares more:

As PSJH continues our growth and expansion effort, our network infrastructure is critical to our health system operations. The WAN (wide area network) Transformation efforts ensure network stability by providing a robust, fault-tolerant, self-healing network infrastructure that integrates the network communications for the entire PSJH health system.

The program has migrated over 390 sites over to the new cloud-based solution. WAN Transformation will begin migrating Tier 1/Tier 2 locations over the next 45 days. Unlike T3 (clinical), the T2/T1 larger site migration process does not require any re-IP changes (touching every piece of equipment). Changes are made at the “network edge” (routers). This solution will minimize the downtime during conversions and, should we need to back out, allows for a quick and clean “rollback” of the location, ensuring we minimize any negative impact.

As we speak, we are preparing locations for the migration. In addition to the ongoing technical preparation, we will coordinate and communicate across the various departments to ensure complete transparency to the schedule and ensure a smooth and incident-free migration.

TEO appreciates your support and collaboration toward the success of the WAN Transformation project.
